DYNAMO DEMO DAY
Dynamo is a mentor-driven innovation program, specializing in logistics, transportation, and supply chain startups. LEO events managed this invite-only event where Dynamo businesses pitched their companies to investors and program partners in an intimate setting.
DYNAMO, a premier logistics, transportation and supply chain accelerator, hosted its inaugural Demo Day on October 4, 2016, showcasing the 10 startups that completed a 3-month intensive program. Dynamo is hosted by Lamp Post Group and was created by Access America Transport founders Ted Alling, Barry Large, and Allan Davis. The purpose of this event is to help businesses bring innovations in technology forward.
Participants included Monterrey, Mexico-based SkyDrop, San Francisco based Skupos, Atlanta-based SynapseMX and London-based Sirenum, among others.
DEMO Day began with Community Pitches at the Historic Tivoli Theatre. Each startup was given 5 minutes to pitch their business to the community. Over 270 individuals attended the event, which was part of the larger conference Start Up Week. LEO supported DYNAMO with full stage production, which included custom lighting design, a 20’ screen with rear projection, and custom CNC cut panels that featured a logistics based design.
Environmental signage was designed to not only reflect DYNAMO’s brand, but also creatively reflect the company’s mission. LEO designed custom, edgy graphics that featured shipping crates with stenciled type facing. Sponsors were represented through both digital and printed graphics throughout each of the venues.
DEMO Day continued with a VIP Experience that welcomed 85 individual investors from around the world. Production for the pitch session was recreated for the VIPs that evening at the Tennessee Aquarium.
Following the pitches, DYNAMO wanted to create a networking environment that allowed investors to meet with Start-up CEOs. So LEO convinced DYNAMO to get onboard with a luxury yacht dining experience to continue the logistical mission. Guests enjoyed a sunset cruise of the Tennessee River Gorge while James Beard Award nominated chef, Erik Niel served up an epicurean voyager’s delight. The evening culminated with a late night Bluegrass concert where guests jammed to the Hamilton County Ramblers while enjoying custom whiskey creations also prepared by Chef Niel.
In addition to production, content, and creative design, LEO also arranged the logistics that moved participants to and from hotels and the airport. The client was overjoyed by the success of each stage of the entire event.
