LATINO MEMPHIS COMMUNITY FESTIVAL & 5K RACE
From budgets to bandanas, run of show to sponsorships, LEO got this event off and running—and growing—in smarter, more creatively branded ways.
Latino Memphis sought to grow this popular race and festival, but like any nonprofit worth its cause, it was already stretched thin, especially operationally. So this Latino-serving group decided to grow the event smartly instead and called upon LEO to find ways to facilitate that growth—in smart, efficient ways, of course.
LEO quickly brought everyone up to speed and developed tactics that immediately helped the event run smoother—and made the lives of Latino Memphis’ staff easier. From pre-event to final vendor load-out, LEO helped frame up the event so that roles and responsibilities were clearly delineated from day one. And we established weekly budgets to better track revenue, expenses and sponsorships, and created more efficient load-ins and load-outs, for example. We also made a timeline and run of show to keep staff and volunteers on schedule on the day of the event. Creatively, we branded the event with custom-logo bandanas for the event’s furry friends and added a light touch with a caricature artist on-site. Did it all work? You bet. The event saw an increase of about 2,000 participants while overall event revenue went up by 56 percent.
